Senior Investigations Coordinator

Mr. Filippazzo has served as Global Risk and Investigative Diligence’s Senior Investigations Coordinator since its inception in March of 2011. In this capacity, Mr. Filippazzo has assisted in coordinating the firm’s due diligence and litigation support services and participated in various corporate investigations and security consulting assignments.

Mr. Filippazzo joined Global Risk and Investigative Diligence after dedicating 20 years to public service. In 1983, Mr. Filippazzo began employment with the New York City Department of Correction, one of the largest municipal corrections systems in the United States. During his tenure with the Correction Department he was promoted to several supervisory positions, including Captain, Assistant Deputy Warden, Deputy Warden, and Deputy Warden in Command. In October of 1996, Mr. Filippazzo was appointed to the position of Director of Investigations where he was responsible for managing the Department’s Investigations Division, which performed a full range of criminal and administrative investigations and served as the Department’s principle liaison with various prosecutorial offices and law enforcement agencies on numerous successful investigations. Mr. Filippazzo has also overseen the Department’s Asset Forfeiture Program, and the Investigations Divisions’ Technical Services Unit and Confidential Informant Section. Mr. Filippazzo also served as a supervisor in the Emergency Services Unit and Executive Assistant to the First Deputy Commissioner.

Mr. Filippazzo entered the private sector in 2002, serving as the Director of Investigations for the security consulting firm Giuliani Security & Safety, LLC, where he oversaw the company’s due diligence operations, participated in various investigative engagements and conducted vulnerability assessments of numerous sites, including commercial and residential facilities, educational institutions, sports venues, and critical infrastructure facilities.

Mr. Filippazzo was named the New York City Department of Correction Investigation Division’s Supervisor of the Year in 1995 and was awarded one Exceptional Merit Medal, two Meritorious Duty Medals, and one Commendation Medal for actions performed while serving in the Department’s Operations Division’s Security and Intelligence Unit. He has also been recognized by the U.S. Attorney’s Office-Southern District, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Homicide Investigation Unit, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, and the NYPD Detectives’ Endowment Association.
